Evan Melendez supports historical ecology and urban nature projects within SFEI’s Resilient Landscapes program. Before joining SFEI, he completed his undergraduate capstone at UCLA, where he investigated extirpated plant species reintroduction on Santa Cruz Island with The Nature Conservancy, leading habitat suitability modeling. He previously worked with the City of Alameda to support its Urban Forest Plan and compile its flood resilience zoning policies. He received a B.S. in Environmental Science from UCLA.
