Russian River Watershed and Sonoma County RipZET
Last Updated

This is a geospatial dataset (feature class within a file geodatabase) of output from the Riparian Zone Estimation tool (RipZET).  RipZET estimates functional riparian extent around stream and wetland features based on modelled vegetation and hillslope processes.  This dataset includes the Russian River Watershed, Sonoma County, and a small northern portion of Marin County. It was derived from Caltrans_CARIv2.0 which is a polygon only version of CARI.

Easy public access to this dataset through the SFEI Data Center and as an interactive online data layer in EcoAtlas supports the monitoring and assessment goals of the Russian River Regional Monitoring Program (R3MP). This task was funded in part by an U.S. EPA Region 9 Wetland Program Development Grant (CD 98T313-01) and Caltrans.
