Background

Mino Han joined SFEI as a GIS Analyst in 2025 to contribute to remote sensing and mapping projects within the Environmental Informatics Program. Before SFEI, he was contracted to the U.S. Geological Survey at the Wetland and Aquatic Research Center where he supported GIS and remote sensing projects that monitored change in the Northern Gulf of Mexico. Projects included assessing barrier island/shoreline geomorphological change, improving understanding of elevation uncertainty in wetlands, and extensive use of land classification for landscape monitoring. He is a recent participant in the Scientists in Parks program at the NPS Rocky Mountain Inventory and Monitoring Network, where he assisted in data management and analysis of stream macroinvertebrates, diatoms, and water chemistry and how they reflect stream degradation.
