Ian Wren is Program Manager for the Nutrient Management Strategy, a role he assumed in 2026 after contributing to the program since its inception in 2012. He supports the development of science-based solutions for nutrient management in San Francisco Bay, working with scientists and stakeholders across regulatory agencies, wastewater utilities, and environmental organizations to address critical management questions affecting the region. Ian holds an MS in Hydrology from Imperial College London and a BS from UC Berkeley, and brings over 20 years of experience in water quality science, environmental compliance, and collaborative watershed management to his leadership of the NMS program.
