Project Contact
Lower Mormon Slough, an urban waterway that runs through the middle of Stockton, has been subjected to decades of alterations including channelization and being cut off from the upper watershed via an upstream diversion canal. Through a collaboration with Restore the Delta and Tribal, local community group, and stakeholder members of the Mormon Slough Restoration Association, SFEI’s Mormon Slough Restoration project is supporting the early stages of restoration visioning through the community-driven design of two initial pilot sites. SFEI is contributing a landscape analysis, the development of a story map, and conceptual pilot site designs that maximize community, biodiversity, and heat mitigation benefits.
