Background
Jordyn is an Environmental Scientist at SFEI. Her primary focus is numerical biogeochemical modeling as a member of the modeling team for the Nutrient Mangement Strategy in the Clean Water Program. Jordyn received her PhD from UCLA in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences where she focused on modeling bio-physical interactions in the California Current System. After her PhD, she was awarded an NSF Postdocotral Research Fellowship (#2206637 – Do Wildfires Drive Phytoplankton Blooms in the California Current System?). Both Jordyn's PhD and postdoctoral work focused on the impact of physical forcing on ocean biogeochemistry. Jordyn is also very passionate about science communication and outreach and has been a co-director of Do-It-Yourself Dynamics (DIYnamics) since 2021.
