RMP Support for Estuary News

San Francisco Estuary News magazine front cover

Estuary News, a publication of the San Francisco Estuary Partnership, reported San Francisco Bay, Delta and watershed news from 1992 to 2023, and won an award for excellence in 2011. The RMP contributed to the production of Estuary News, and many articles feature RMP findings.

This 12-page mini-magazine came out four times a year on paper and in PDF. It covered everything from restoration and conservation to the water wars, and offered insider information on the latest debates, regulations and science on contaminants, and endangered and introduced species.

Though the Clean Water Act did an amazing job of reducing wastewater and stormwater pollution in the San Francisco Estuary, some contaminants remain thorny problems. Legacy pollutants, emerging contaminants, microplastics, and nutrients are particular challenges for the Estuary. Recurring topics in Estuary News stories included plastics, mercury, emerging contaminants (PBDEs, PFOS, BPA, etc.), fish consumption, polluted runoff, and RMP findings.

The RMP thanks Estuary News for all the work and coverage it shared on these issues.
