Collaboration for Decision Making
The San Francisco Bay Nutrient Management Strategy (NMS) is a collaborative initiative with the Regional Water Quality Control Board and other partners to address the complex challenge of nutrient management in San Francisco Bay.
This need for a deep scientific understanding to inform sound management decisions requires significant time, resources, and intricate decision-making processes.
The NMS is administered by SFEI, and operates with a governance structure comprising a 15-member steering committee, 10+ technical advisors, and technical workgroups consisting of stakeholders, regulators, and science advisors. A charter for the NMS documents the governance structure and processes. Dedicated workgroups focus on addressing high-priority water quality issues, ensuring that the NMS remains dynamic and responsive to evolving needs.
Meeting Schedule and Materials
The NMS ensures transparency and public involvement by opening all meetings to the public, fostering inclusivity in the pursuit of effective nutrient management solutions for the Bay.
