Oct 30, 2016

On Sunday, October 30 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., SFEI’s Robin Grossinger appeared on a weekly, hour-long discussion series called The Forum. He joined Malcom Clarence Young, the dean of Grace Cathedral, to discuss our changing climate and our place as Bay Area denizens in a world that is rapidly changing.

Other guests of The Forum have included such notable thought leaders as Secretary of State George Shultz, singer Linda Ronstadt, actress and playwright Anna Deavere Smith and environmentalist William McKibben. The conversations range in topic from art to politics, science to philosophy. For Sunday's event, Mr. Grossinger will be tackling the annual theme of the discussion series, "Home,"  by sharing his professional experiences in thinking critically about landscape restoration opportunities for people and wildlife, essentially asking how we might ensure that our collective home continues to offer a place for all of us, even when it is threatened by dramatic and, to some extent, unpredictable changes. Resilience, in this context, is a strategy for survival.
