Communicating information in support of management decisions is a key element of the Regional Monitoring Program for Water Quality in San Francisco Bay. Although the Program has always prioritized high-caliber communication outputs, 2025 is the first time staff capacity has enabled producing a comprehensive communication strategy documented in a written report. The communication strategy defines our audiences and describes 19 existing and proposed communication products, which range from print and digital to in-person events and meetings. It also outlines how the needs of our audiences drive different communication products, and documents the intended audiences for each product. Stakeholders have emphasized a desire for succinct, plain-language communication and products that can help inform the public. The Strategy concludes with specific recommendations for next steps.
