The purpose of this report is to describe the methods for the Baylands Habitat Map (BHM) change analysis, highlight key observations from a preliminary test case study in the Belmont-Redwood Operation Landscape Unit (OLU), provide recommendations for conducting the change analysis between BHM 2020 and BHM 2025 once the updated map is completed in 2026, and propose updates to the WRMP Standard Operating Procedures for Indicators 1 and 3 originally developed in 2021.
This report is intended for the WRMP Geospatial Workgroup (Workgroup) and other partners interested in analyzing habitat change between mapping efforts. It will serve as a foundation for the next BHM change analysis, recognizing that the methodology will continue to evolve alongside technological advancements and improvements in input data.
