Data Access for Selected Russian River Watershed Health Indicators

This page provides access to tabular data (in excel format) summarized in a Russian River Regional Monitoring Program’s (R3MP) report completed in 2025.

Lowe, S., Whipple, A. A., Sevier, E. 2025. A Compilation and Retrospective Assessment of Selected Russian River Watershed Health Indicators. A product of the Russian River Regional Monitoring Program. San Francisco Estuary Institute, Richmond, CA.

SFEI downloaded, compiled, and explored a number of stream water quality parameters and habitat condition methods from a number of programs and projects working the in the Russian River watershed between 2000 and 2024.  Below are Excel files containing discrete water quality monitoring data, and California Rapid Assessment Method (CRAM) data summarized in the report.

  • The About Discrete Water Quality Datasets.txt file includes more information about the data included in each file.  Briefly, data compilation and clean-up steps included standardizing columns and naming conventions to the California Data Exchange Network (CEDEN) standards, conducting basic data quality checks to drop out flagged (qualified) data marked as unusable, and reviewing and standardizing how to handle non-detect (ND) and detected but not quantifiable (DNQ) results.

  • The CRAM Data file includes Riverine CRAM assessment area information and Index and Attribute Scores. The file also has basic instructions about how to view and access CRAM data online at www.EcoAtlas.org
