The Sixth Annual San Francisco Bay Mercury Coordination Conference was held Thursday February 5, 2009 at the Regional Water Quality Control Board building in downtown Oakland. Topics included: regulatory updates; the latest information on impairment of beneficial uses; preliminary results on the use of mercury isotopes and thin films (DGTs) to evaluate mercury processes, sources and pathways; the use of small fish to assess uptake of mercury into the food web; discussions of important mercury cycling processes in wetlands; and the results of recent sediment coring efforts.
