Will Peterson is a leader in AECOM's municipal water business supporting municipalities anticipate, plan, and deliver community focused water infrastructure. Based in Salt Lake City, Will is the Deputy Project Manager for Salt Lake City’s $800M Water Reclamation Facility, a greenfield 48MGD facility and state’s first Envision-verified treatment plant.

Will’s experience spans planning, stakeholder engagement, and collaborative delivery on water and wastewater projects, with an emphasis on sustainability and long-term operations. He is a certified Envision Sustainability Professional and trainer, and co-chairs the ESG Task Force of the Water Environment Federation, where he brings together industry leaders for conversations on environmental justice, decarbonization, and nature-based solutions in the water sector.

He is focused on the connection between infrastructure and natural systems and how healthy watersheds protect communities and support ecosystems. Originally from Pennsylvania, Will moved to Salt Lake City in 2014. He holds a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Bucknell University and an Executive MBA from the University of Utah. Outside of work, he enjoys skiing, cycling, and photography and spends much of his time outdoors and around water.
