Pedro is an environmental scientist at the San Francisco Estuary Institute (SFEI). He develops and applies numerical models to inform San Francisco Bay Area decisions regarding watershed and urban hydrology, stormwater management, water quality, habitat restoration, and climate change. Prior to joining the SFEI in 2023, Pedro worked as a staff engineer at Atlas Technical Consultants, where he performed hydraulic and hydrologic modeling for stormwater drainage systems. In 2018, Pedro joined Indiana University (IU) as a postdoctoral research associate, where he developed hydrologic models to forecast streamflow and stream temperature. Prior to IU, Pedro conducted research on urban hydrology while being a researcher at Kent State University. Pedro has also taught water resources courses at the National University of Colombia. He earned a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering (hydrology and water resources) from the University of New Hampshire and is a licensed civil engineer.
