Background
Farid Karimpour is an environmental scientist in the Clean Water program at SFEI, where he works on numerical modeling to understand hydrodynamics and biogeochemical processes in San Francisco Bay and Delta. Farid received his PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Colorado State University, where he studied turbulent mixing in stably stratified environmental flows. Subsequently, as a postdoc researcher at UC Berkeley and later UMass Dartmouth, he investigated internal waves and numerical modeling of physical/biogeochemical processes in the ocean.
