Stephanie Panlasigui joined SFEI’s Resilient Landscapes program as an Associate Environmental Scientist in 2019. Her work at SFEI mainly focuses on ecological resilience in the urban environment. Stephanie earned a Master of Environmental Management degree in Ecosystem Science and Conservation from Duke University. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences from UC Berkeley. Prior to joining SFEI, she conducted ecosystem services research with the US Environmental Protection Agency, including studies on urban heat island mitigation, floodplain mapping and freshwater conservation prioritization. She has also worked for land trusts, working to protect more land with conservation easements and engaging the community through habitat restoration projects.
