Eileen M. White is the Director of Wastewater for the East Bay Municipal Utility District (District). She was appointed to the position in 2017 after managing the District’s Water Operations Department for over 17 years. She has over 30 years of engineering experience in the wastewater, water, and power industries.
She is actively involved in pursuing environmentally-friendly solutions, leading climate change initiatives, and in protecting San Francisco Bay. She is a member of many local and national water and wastewater industry associations, and is also on the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Clean Water Association.
Eileen’s management and technical experience includes addressing key wastewater, recycled water and potable water issues at the local, state, and federal levels through legislative, regulatory, and legal advocacy. She worked collaboratively with local and state agencies to leverage state funding for public benefit and ecosystem restoration to improve the Delta levees. She successfully led the water system operations during the wettest year on record and also during the driest four-year period in the state.
Eileen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from U.C. Berkeley, is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of California, and has a Water Distribution Operator Grade 5 certificate.
