Gregory received a bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of California at Berkeley. At SFEI, Gregory is responsible for the performance of desktop computer systems, routine maintenance, and software/hardware installations. Along with desktop support, Gregory works on GeoFetch (a web application to index and catalog geospatial data for quick search and discovery), helps map the Bay Area Wetland and Riparian Base Map, and takes on other GIS and IT-related tasks as needed.

Recently, Gregory has taken on database administration tasks, writing queries and stored procedures to monitor statuses of backups. Gregory has also delved into the web mapping world - creating web services with ArcGIS Server. Along with proprietary software, he is gaining experience with open source products such as MapServer and Tilecache.
