Rachel graduated from Williams College in Massachusetts in 2008 with a BA in mathematics and chemistry. She then spent a summer at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, studying trace metals in glacial meltwater and upwellings from deep ocean springs. During the 2008-2009 school year, Rachel taught English to middle school and high school students on Réunion Island, a French department in the Indian Ocean. When not out in the field studying it, she enjoys the environment as much as possible, hiking, climbing, and exploring. Rachel joined SFEI in 2009, working primarily on the RMP.
