Interested Parties:
Enclosed for your review is a copy of a report entitled
San Francisco Estuary Baylands Ecosystem Goals. This draft
report was prepared by the San Francisco Bay Area Wetlands
Ecosystem Goals Project.
The draft report describes the habitat changes needed to
help ensure healthy populations of fish and wildlife in
San Francisco Bay. It presents these changes as an overall
vision and as site-specific actions. The report also includes
information on a variety of issues relevant to habitat restoration
and enhancement.
To foster a better understanding of the report's recommendations
and how they were prepared, the Project's Resource Managers
Group will sponsor four evening workshops in July. At the
workshops, there will be opportunities for the public to
ask questions about the report and to provide comments.
The schedule and locations for the workshops are indicated
on the reverse side of this letter.
To facilitate review, by July 10 the report will posted
on the Internet at http://ceres.ca.gov/wetlands/whats_new.html
Written comments on the draft report may be submitted to
the address below, and must be received no later than August
14, 1998. The Resource Managers Group will consider comments
from the workshops as well as written comments when preparing
the final goals report in the fall.
