The SFEI Data Technical Services (DTS) team manages the data for a multi-year stormwater monitoring project within the San Francisco Bay area. For water year 2013, the DTS team managed the field collection data for 6 sites, sampled by 4 agencies, for a total of 23 sampling events throughout water year 2013. The stormwater samples were sent to 6 different laboratories for analysis of water quality parameters, nutrients, trace metals, organic parameters and toxicity and results submitted to SFEI. At the end of the rainy season, sample results were formatted into standard tables using California Environmental Data Exchange Network (CEDEN) approved codes and subject to a rigorous QA/QC review. The resulting dataset contains more than 17,500 data records which will be used to fulfill monitoring requirements under the Municipal Regional Stormwater Permit. The data will be made available to the public through CEDEN's Advanced Query Tool in 2014. SFEI stormwater data from 2002-2012 is already available through CEDEN’s web query tool and when combined with other regional datasets, such as long-term monitoring efforts like the Regional Monitoring Program for Water Quality in the San Francisco Estuary (RMP), these datasets contributes to a better understanding of the health of the Bay.
