Napa River Watershed Historical Ecology Project

A Project of the San Francisco Estuary Institute, Friends of the Napa River, and the Napa County Resource Conservation District

Researchers are assembling thousands of pieces of evidence about how the Napa River and Valley functioned prior to extensive Euro-american modification. This information is designed to help us understand how the local landscape has changed through time and help develop strategies to improve its health in the future. Initial products are listed below. The Napa Valley Historical Ecology Atlas is anticipated for release later in 2008.
