Contaminants

The Contaminants Program encompasses all water quality monitoring efforts of SFEI and ASC. The Contaminants Program’s fundamental goal is to provide water quality managers with the information they need to manage the region’s aquatic resources effectively. The Contaminants Program includes the Regional Monitoring Program for Water Quality in the San Francisco Estuary (RMP).

The RMP operates under a unique stakeholder governance structure to conduct monitoring within San Francisco Bay. Many other Contaminants projects are funded independently of the RMP, and many lie outside the geographical area of the RMP (for instance, in the Delta and the Central Valley). more >
